When a giver chooses to use Fee Assist, this allows your organization to receive 100% of the original gift. In order to make sure this happens, you might realize that the amount a giver pays for fee assists is more than the amount if the fee had been subtracted from the original donation if they had chosen not to add this additional gift. This is what we call, “fees on the fees.” The transaction fee is applied to the total amount of a transaction. When a giver chooses to use Fee Assist, the total amount increases. Thus, the increase in the fee amount. Our calculations take this into consideration when a giver chooses to use fee assist.
