Child Care Event Best Practices
For events where more security at check-out is necessary, you will need to set some otions in the Check-In/Check-Out Event Records window.
In the Check-In/Check-Out Event Record and under the Event tab, select specific code(s) types.
In the Check-Out Options pane, we would recommend that you check:
Require Pre-Authorization
Always authorize others on the Address Record
Manual
Barcode
Require matching check-out receipts.
Under the Check-In Reports tab, tell the program to print two reports per check-in. One is the name badge for the child, and the other is a receipt to give to the parent/guardian, which they will present at check-out.
If you are using CDM+ Mobile for Check-in, you can set up a Name Badge Server to centrally print badges.
You will check-in the child the same way as you would an adult. However, some features you might use more commonly with a child are features such as the Notes, Photo, etc field. Here you can add notes that a parent/guardian might provide. (ie, child isn’t feeling well, has had a rough morning, etc).
Also on the Staff Check-In/Check-Out screen, you can see which staff member performed check-in, the name of the person who dropped off the child, and eventually the name of the person who picked up the child.
When performing a check-out for a child, because of the boxes we check in step 2, you will be asked to select who is checking the child out and see a list of only authorized people who can check the child out of an event.
