All the Contributions Users preferences relate to contributions entry, including setting a default payment type when you are entering contributions.
The remaining settings on this pane of the Users Preference window apply to optional hardware available from the CDM+ Sales Department that will speed up entry of contributions and, in the case of the Check Image Scanner device, save an image of checks in the Giving Unit Record.
