What's New in CDM+ 12.1

Overview

CDM+ 12.1 focuses on enhancement to online giving and payment processing.

A new edition, CDM+ Essentials, gives small and start-up organizations the power of CDM+ for their fundraising and event management.

Internal improvements in security, deployment, and performance lay the groundwork for future versions of CDM+.

CDM+ Engage Menu

Easily access CDM+ Engage directly from within CDM+. The new CDM+ Engage menu allows you to:

• Open your Engage site in your browser
• Open and configure Engage settings (requires Administrator permissions)
• Search and refund transactions (requires new administer transactions permission)
• Access 48218099 (requires Administrator permissions)

API Integration

Integrate CDM+ with third parties via Suran API. Visit https://api.suran.com for details.

Contributions

Settlement Information

The Deposit Date and fee information for Contribution records will be available the day the contribution is deposited to your bank account. Previously, this information was available posting the deposit via Deposit Processing.

Online Giving Statements

CDM+ Engage now offers 48218099. Within CDM+ Desktop, you can search giving units against their online giving statements.

For example, use the following search to find givers who haven't viewed an online statement since January 31st.

Giving Unit Records Email Statement

The Email tab on Giving Unit Records has been renamed to Email Statement for clarity.

Giving Unit Reporting

You can include the giving unit's preferred email as set in CDM+ Engage on windows and reports via the Default Email field.

Use this find to review and locate givers using the email address to which they receive Engage GIving notifications.

Contributions Reporting

For online gifts, you can display new columns:

• Online Net Amount (breakdown line) displays the breakdown of the net gift (amount minus fees) for the various funds in a contribution
• Online Transaction Fees (breakdown line) displays the breakdown of the gift fees for the various funds in a contribution
• Used Fee Assist will display if a gift used fee assist

If the gift was created from a recurring contributions you can also include the following columns about the recurring contribution setup:

• Recurring Contribution End Date
• Recurring Contribution Frequency
• Recurring Contribution Start Date

Formatting on breakdown

You can now adjust the delimiter on breakdown columns on the Contributions Custom Listing and Export report.

Recurring Contributions Setup Custom Listing and Export

We've added a Recurring Contributions Setup Custom Listing and Export report to create reports for recurring gifts, both manual and online. This report also gained date range options on the standard search.

Recurring Contributions Forecast

We've renamed Recurring Contributions Detail to Recurring Contributions Forecast to clarify this report's purpose.

We've also expanded this report to include online gifts

Contribution Setup

We've eliminated the Contribution Setup window to provide more direct access to features.

Inactive Giving Funds

CDM+ will now prevent you from marking the giving fund used for Fee Assist as inactive.

When marking setting a giving fund inactive, CDM+ will warn you if that fund is used with active recurring gifts.

Custom Listing and Export Reports

We've added more format options for the Email fields in the Custom Listing and Export reports. You can now choose to include the name fields in the same column as the email address or display the email only.

Event Registration

Use the Event Custom Listing and Export and Payment Custom Listing and Export to build custom reports for your events and payments.

User Fields

You can export user fields by set or all together from any records with user fields in CDM+.

A zip file will be created with .csv files for data fields and files for raw data fields.

Payroll

Update State Calculations

CDM+ 12.1 includes updated state calculation for the following states:

• Arizona
• Indiana
• Iowa
• Maryland
• North Dakota
• Virginia

Payment Processing

Transaction Custom Listing and Export

We've added a new report to display transactions. This uses the same data source as Search Transactions in CDM+ Engage.

Use this report to locate and process returns, refunds, etc.

Paragon

We've added support for payment processing through the Paragon payment processor.

Treasurer Reports

We've added a replace button for ACH accounts for Church records. 

We've added enhancements to the Treasurer report to prevent accidental report deletions. 

UCC Profiles Portal

In 2021 The United Church of Christ (UCC) moved their Minister Profiles system to CDM+. In CDM+ 12.1 we've added a number of enhancements to this system, including a beta version of Local Church Profiles and the groundwork for the UCC Data Hub which tracks statistical conference, association, church, and minister data for the entire denomination.

Technical

Optimized Database Switching

Choosing a different database uses threaded connections to allow getting a list of available databases faster, especially with multiple accounts.

Installers on macOS

macOS Ventura and later will download a full installers to update CDM+. This ensures compatibility with enhanced Gatekeeper requirements.

If you install CDM+ in a custom location, updating CDM+ from within CDM+ will now update that custom location.

Improved Download Speed

Downloading updates will now be faster thanks to improvements at our hosting provider.
